I write this sat in bed for the seventh day in some bedsit in Cape Town after having massacred my ankle playing/falling over while playing tennis. I needed a lift this week and this has finally come in the form of news from Plough lane at 8.00pm on a Saturday evening.
I started playing squash with Mark @ Christophers about four years ago and we were welcomed into one of the friendliest clubs in South West London with open arms. Mark and I enjoyed our regular weekly games and over time started to climb up the inter-club leagues at fairly similar times.
I think it was Pete who saw the potential in Mark and since I moved abroad nine months ago he has apparently come on leaps and bounds. The ‘B’ plate winner is a high accolade, and I raise a glass to you Mark from my sickbed.
A sentimental post but the improvements in Mark are of course about Mark and his efforts, but you have to add in the positive coaching attitude at the club. WHAT A NIGHT!!!!!
